The 2021 Hyundai Kona EV, also called the Hyundai Kona Electric, offers a 64-kWh electric battery pack and a 150-kW electric motor that generates 201 horsepower and 291 lb-ft of torque, an impressive set of numbers for an all-electric model. Even better, it offers an EPA-estimated range of 258 miles per full charge.¹

At a fast-charging station, Hyundai claims that the Kona can reach 80% charge in just 54 minutes. With a standard 220-volt home outlet, Hyundai says it takes about nine hours to go from 0% to 100% charge. It's estimated that with a fast charge station, it should take approximately one hour and 15 minutes to get to a full charge.

Trim Levels and Technology

The Kona EV comes in one of three trim levels: the SEL base, the Limited mid-range, and the full-featured Ultimate. At the base level, you get everything you'd expect and a bit more, including an infotainment system with a smartphone interface and a 7-inch touchscreen. You also get heated seats for comfort and keyless push-button ignition as well as keyless entry for convenience. You also get a full safety suite with emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, and a lane-keeping function.

Step it up to the Limited level and you get a battery heater for performance in cold weather, plus a sunroof, wireless device charging, auto-dimming mirrors, and a power driver's seat for comfort and convenience. You also get leather upholstery.

Finally, at the Ultimate level, you add extra safety and driver aids like automatic windshield wipers, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors in the rear, and pedestrian detection. Finally, for comfort, you get cooled seats and a heated steering wheel with this trim level.

Cargo Capacity
