Whether you are heading to Heritage Park, or to an escape room in Novi with friends, you'll want something that has some power. To get started, we’ll head under the hood and check out what powers the Kona:
- Standard 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine: 147 horsepower / 132 lb-ft of torque capability
- Available 1.6L inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine: 195 horsepower / 195 lb-ft of torque capability
The standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine is paired with the smooth Intelligent Variable Automatic Transmission, while the available 1.6L turbocharged engine works with the sporty 7-speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission.
A front-wheel drivetrain (FWD) comes standard, but for advanced stability and traction control, be sure to ask about the available All Wheel Drive (AWD) Active On-Demand system.
Even with all that power, the Kona doesn’t compromise when it comes to fuel efficiency, delivering an EPA-estimated 30 city/35 highway MPG rating.1
Now, we’ll hop right inside and check out the spacious interior cabin. All five riders will have plenty of room to stretch out and relax within 94.1 cubic feet of passenger volume.

You’ll have plenty of room for storage back in the trunk, thanks to the dual-level cargo floor and 60/40 split fold-down seats. The second row reclines and has adjustable head restraints, too, so no matter where you’re seated, you’ll be able to find your perfect position.
The available heated front seats will keep you nice and cozy, no matter how low the temperature drops outside. To add a touch of luxury to your interior, there’s available leather trimmed seats as well.
When you and your family are on the way to TreeRunner West Bloomfield Adventure Park, you want to make sure you arrive safely. The Kona comes equipped with a plethora of innovative driver-assist safety features that are designed to act as a second set of eyes on the road ahead. These work together to help you mitigate or avoid collisions, travel on the highway with ease, and stay securely in the center of your lane.
- Standard Rear Occupant Alert
