Elantra Vs Cruze: Active Safety
As 2019 models, both the Hyundai Elantra and the Chevy Cruze are equipped with some of the most state-of-the-art active safety features on the market. However, you’ll find that the Elantra has you prepared right off the bat while the Cruze requires a few upgrades to get the whole package:
Hyundai Elantra
Rearview Camera: Standard
Forward Collision Alert with Pedestrian Braking: Available
Blind Spot Monitoring: Standard on 5/6 trims
Driver Attention Warning: Standard on 5/6 trims
Safe Exit Assist: Optional
Chevy Cruze
Rearview Camera: Standard
Forward Collision Alert with Pedestrian Braking: Available
Blind Spot Monitoring: Available on only 3/5 trims
Driver Attention Warning: Not available at all
Safe Exit Assist: Not available at all
As you can see, you’ll get a few extra features with the Elantra including Driver Attention Warning and Safe Exit Assist. The latter feature locks the doors when it detects an oncoming vehicle so you don’t open the door and step out into traffic.
