Sonata vs Fusion – Performance
Performance is possibly the most crucial aspect of vehicles since it determines the type of driving you’ll be capable of. While both of these sedans come equipped with solid powertrains, one may leave you wanting a little more.
The 2019 Hyundai Sonata is powered by the 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. This powertrain can easily generate up to 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, which is fairly impressive for the size of the vehicle. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which is equipped with SHIFTRONIC® technology that allows you to change gears on demand. In addition, it adapts to your driving style and has preset patterns for elevated performance and inclement weather.
On the other hand, the Fusion includes a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. Although it offers slightly more liters than the Hyundai, it presents less power. In fact, the top horsepower for this engine is only 175, while the torque comes in at 175 lb-ft. It is also paired with a 6-speed transmission, but that lacks the progressive technology that the drivetrain has in the Sonata.
